Where you can share a "tail" about your best 4 legged friend
Welcome to the Old Dog Book Website!
What would you do for your elderly dog? What measures would you take to make sure they had a good quality of life while living out their last few days, months, or years?
We found ourselves doing some things we never would have imagined to give our cherished dog, Aussie, love and dignity her last couple of years.
My wife and I had talked about doing an aging dog book for quite a while; recently our beloved Aussie passed away and we felt that the time is now to write this book. This book is to be about what people do to assist an aging dog. Not only a means to share our stories and your stories but also as a way for all of us to heal. These stories might include the number of prescriptions ,Vet visits, pet sitters, alterative medicine, special arraignments made for them or us, just to name a few. Did it help or hinder their health. This is a chance to share our feelings. The hurt, love, pain, anger we felt while caring for them. Good and Bad.
This book is a special publication intended to promote healing while providing help to others dealing with the same challenges, it also intended to support other organizations and folks who dedicate there lives to helping animals.
So for every book sold at least $5.00 will be donated to one of several animal charities. We are hoping it will be more depending on the cost of printing, volume of books, etc.
Here’s how it works:
Submit your aging dog stories in the form (link below), the story can be about something funny, your adventures together, about what you did to make sure they had a good quality of life as they aged or the story of your beloved furry friend (family) who passed.
We recommend typing it in a word processor so that you can spell check and easily modify as you go.
You can also submit a photo of your dog and we’ll include that with the story and on our website once the book goes to print.
When you submit your story please include you first and last name and the city or state that you live as well as the breed of dog and their name.
There is nothing sweeter than the love from a dog. Memorialize and honor your pet by summiting a story.
A message from Aussie
Please take a look at the links on the right, you'll find some great information and ways you can help. One of my favorite charities is Rolling Dog Ranch, they're an Animal Sanctuary in Montana that rescues and shelters disabled animals. You'll also see a link for Cesar Millan - his methods for behavior issues is top notch, you can see him in action on his show called The Dog Whisperer. There's also a link to my favorite treat - Sammy Snack! They're all natural and safe, made right here in the USA.
Please consider donating to one of these charities or a rescue organization in your area, my friends are counting on you.
